The Sussexes have found themselves lying further down the list of names on the Royal Family website following the Queen’s death and now they are positioned just above Prince Andrew
The Sussexes have been “demoted” on the Royal Family’s official website and now sit just above Andrew on the list of names.
Since moving to the United States more than two years ago, the rift between Harry and Meghan, and other members of the Royal Family has deepened.
By leaving the UK they no longer were working royals and their new positioning on the Royal Family’s website represents their current standing.
The website features a list of significant adult royals, each with their own “about” section, and until recently the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had featured around the middle of the rankings, below senior members.
But when the website was reworked following the death of the Queen, the pair were relegated to the second and third-lowest spots, just above Andrew in the new rankings.
They are now below for example the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
The Sussexes and Andrew are not the only ones to have been affected by the shake-up – as Prince Michael of Kent, 80, and his wife, Marie-Christine, have been removed from the page completely as they are not working royals.
The Sussexes had once been just below William and Kate on the Royal Family list, when residing in the UK – but they were soon placed down below the Wessexes and Princess Anne after their decision to move to the United States.
There has been some hope during the Sussexes’ recent stay in the UK during the Queen’s funeral that the rift could be healing with other royals.
King Charles reportedly saw “tremendous flickers of hope” and he was “buoyed” by the meeting that he had with Harry and Meghan
An insider has told The Telegraph : “It remains the case that the King loves both of his children.
“Over the last 16 days or so, there were tremendous flickers of hope. In terms of the future, there is hope of a cause for unity.”
