Accused triple murderer Erin Patterson has successfully offloaded one of her investment properties just days before the home was expected to fetch six figures at auction.
The Mount Waverley townhouse in Melbourne’s leafy south-east had a price guide of $960,000 to $1,050,000 ahead of an auction on Saturday but the property has already sold days before going under the hammer.
A now deleted listing by real estate agency Ray White advertises the cosy home as “equally suited to those starting out or downsizing”.
“Quietly tucked at the rear of only two, the residence takes great care in providing a comfortable lifestyle with the lounge room enriched with large windows, while the dining zone is accompanied by a well-equipped kitchen complete with a Bosch dishwasher,” the listing read.
“Creating an invitation for summer BBQs, sliding doors open from the dining zone out onto an alfresco deck, while the rear of the home presents children and pets with space to play or set up a trampoline.
“Extra benefits include a laundry, ducted heating, split system air conditioning, under stair storage, high ceilings plus a remote-control double garage with backyard roller door.”
It is understood the property was a holiday house for Ms Patterson and her children and has remained largely unoccupied since it was purchased in 2019 for $931,000.
Ms Patterson made the purchase just months after selling an oceanfront home in the coastal town of Eden in New South Wales she inherited from her late parents.
Prior to her arrest for triple murder, the mother-of-two lived in a sprawling family home she built in Leongatha, the site of the alleged mushroom poisoning on July 29 that killed three people.
On November 2, the impressive modern home was raided in connection with the incident just hours before Ms Patterson was taken to Wonthaggi police station and charged with murder.
Ms Patterson now resides in a jail cell on remand at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in Melbourne’s western outskirts until her next court appearance on May 3, 2024.
Prosecutors requested the 20-week delay before her next appearance so computer equipment seized from her Leongatha home could be analysed.
The accused triple murderer’s lawyer Ben Doogue is expected to make an application for bail in coming weeks.
