Another celebrity has touched down in Australia ahead of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here after the first 10 stars were confirmed for the ITV show, which kicks off this Sunday
Danielle Harold has touched down in Australia ahead of the start of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
10 celebrities have now been confirmed for the upcoming series of the hit jungle show – which is fronted by presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly – and one of them landed Down Under this evening ahead of their jungle experience. The stars will prepare for the show, which kicks off on Sunday evening on ITV1 and ITVX.
Danielle was spotted at the airport, cutting a casual figure in a long back coat. She kept a low profile by wearing black sunglasses and was seen smiling at those who had arrived to greet her at the airport.
Speaking to The Mirror at the airport, she joked: “I’m just here for some surfing with Nigel Farage! I heard this is a really good spot for some surfing. I’ll give it a go, I’ll give it a go. Listen me and Nigel come every year you know. Imagine!”
“I’m actually excited to get out of here and see how hot it is. I’m buzzing! Exactly. No need for fake tan, no glam! The glam’s gone.”
Whilst she was quick through the airport and out to the car, she had to wait several minutes for her luggage to be organised so it could all fit in the boot of the car. Danielle – who played Lola Pearce in the BBC soap – had brought three cream luggage with her.
The stars are ready to face their biggest fears as they head into the jungle for the first time. The names so far confirmed for the show include Nigel Farage, Josie Gibson and Sam Thompson, who have all landed in Australia, with more on their way. Ant McPartlin landed in Australia earlier this week and told The Mirror how excited he was for the show’s return.
“I can’t wait for the show to begin, it’s an incredible cast. It’ll be nice to be reunited with Dec and it’ll be nice to see him,” he said.
Danielle’s arrival Down Under follows the former soap star issuing a warning to her former EastEnders colleagues. Speaking to ITV ahead of appearing on the show, the actress said: “It’s definitely a shock to the system and I am both excited and nervous. This is so much tougher than anything or any role I have ever done before as it is all so new! It’s going to be interesting to see how I face up to my fears. I particularly don’t like rats. I have seen rats out in London and I hate them. It’s the thought of their teeth. People say they won’t harm me but I am like, ‘Have they been to the dentist?!’ I am so scared of them.”
She also issued a warning to her EastEnders co-stars as she worried they would vote for her to take part in the Bushtucker Trials. She explained: “They are going to love it when they find out I’m doing this. And I’m sure they won’t be able me to get back and take the mickey out of me! I am looking forward to getting stuck into the trials but at the same time, I hope they don’t vote for me to do all of them! There is always someone every year who people love to watch and I hope it isn’t me.”
Prior to heading Down Under, Danielle told the Mirror that she was excited about her future after leaving EastEnders, saying: “I don’t know really. That’s what’s exciting about leaving a soap when you’ve been in it for such a long time, it’s like the world changes, the industry changes so much – I’m really excited to see what’s next.”
ITV bosses were said to have been ‘desperate’ to have Danielle on the show after her incredible finale performance in EastEnders and her prestigious NTA win. Danielle is at the height of her career and in demand after her moving storyline on EastEnders, but she’s really caught the eye of ITV bosses to appear in the upcoming series of The Jungle,” a TV source told The Sun. “As well as being a talented actress with a huge fanbase, Danielle has a fun personality with a wicked sense of humour, which makes her the ideal campmate for the show. It could propel her into superstardom at an exciting time in her acting journey.”
