Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday stressed the importance of unity in building a modern socialist country.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks when he visited an exhibition in Beijing.
At the exhibition center, Xi said that since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Central Committee has united and led the Party, the whole country and the people of all ethnic groups in the country to overcome many unresolved problems, accomplish many important events that have long-term implications, and withstand risks and challenges in politics, economics, ideology, nature and other aspects.
Xi said that it is necessary to widely publicize the strategic measures, transformative practices, breakthrough progress and landmark achievements over the past decade, and widely publicize the great changes over the past decade that have great significance in the history of the Party, the history of new China, the history of reform and opening-up, the history of socialist development, and the history of the development of the Chinese nation.
The exhibition focuses on the great achievements of the CPC and the country over the past decade.
